Upward Bound Scholarship
Upward Bound Scholarships are offered to two Charleston County residents who have participated in a TRIO program as designated by the US Department of Education and who possess strong academic records. U.S. Department of Education TRIO Programs prepare first-generation or underserved students to successfully enter and earn a degree at a four year college or university. The College of Charleston has hosted Upward Bound for over 35 years.
All students must enroll full-time (12 hours) each semester in order to be eligible for any scholarship funds.
Continuing Eligibility
A recipient must complete 24 credit hours per academic year (fall, spring and subsequent summer). Recipients of Upward Bound Scholarship must maintain a cumulative College of Charleston GPA of 2.75.
If the student maintains the required academic standards, the scholarship will be renewed automatically. Renewals are made in the summer of each year for the upcoming year.
